Colts game

Matthew 6:27 - Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
Leading up to the Colts Game Saturday night (1/16/10) I was very worried about going. The last 2 Playoff games that I attended, The Colts lost both games. So my mind was was convincing me that if I went, the Colts would loose and their season would be over. Honestly, what was I thinking? I was so worried about a football game and for some reason believing my presence mattered. It is interesting how Satan takes things that do not matter at all (football games) and makes them bigger than life and more important that those things in our life that truly matter. Thankfully, my husband is a very wise man and he continues to remind me what is true - it has nothing to do with me. It is just a game and life will continue tomorrow no matter what the outcome of the game happens to be.
It is good and fun that the Colts won the game - but this victory pales in comparison to the true victory we have in Jesus Christ. Thank You Jesus for being the Head Coach Who calls the plays and allows me to continue to live, breath and bring glory and honor to You alone while I am in the game. (You have a plan and a purpose for my life - Jeremiah 29:11), thank You for being the Referee and showing me the sin in my life (I have done wrong things in my life and deserve a penalty - that penalty is sin - Romans 6:22). Thank You most of all for being the Sacrifice and taking the penalty that is due to me and giving me eternal life where there will be no games - only glory and peace and truth. Amen.
